Work

I work as an Electronics Technician for Bell Canada’s arctic operations subsidiary, NorthwesTel. NorthwesTel serves a total of 98 communities in northern BC, the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut and has an operating area covering nearly 4 million square kilometres. This gives NorthwesTel the unique distinction of having the largest operating area in the western hemisphere.

My work with NorthwesTel involves the installation and maintenance of electronics associated with satellite earth stations, central office transmission and switching equipment as well as DC power plant equipment including rectifiers and inverters. As mentioned, my work is challenging and provides me with a wide variety experiences both technically and personally as I’ve been fortunate to travel extensively across Canada’s eastern arctic, seeing some of the most exciting landscapes and places on earth.

Prior to my work with NorthwesTel, I held technical positions with both Bell Canada and Bell Mobility.

I am also member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
